\n<\/a>I graduated summa\u00a0cum laude<\/a> from Amherst\u00a0College<\/a> in 1989, with a concentration on intellectual history. I graduated from CUNY\u00a0Law School<\/a> in 2002 and became a member of the New York State Bar in\u00a02003. I have been a member of the American\u00a0Immigration Lawyers Assocation (AILA)<\/a> since 2004. I am currently listed\u00a0on the AILA\u00a0Immigration Lawyer Service<\/a>. This service requires that listed attorneys\u00a0be insured and in good standing with their bar associations.<\/p>\n

From October 2003 up to the present, I have represented clients in all\u00a0phases of immigration benefits applications and representation before\u00a0U.S.C.I.S.<\/a>\u00a0and the Immigration\u00a0Courts (E.O.I.R.)<\/a> I have represented clients before the Immigration\u00a0Courts in New\u00a0York City, New York<\/a>,\u00a0Arlington,\u00a0Virginia<\/a>, York,\u00a0Pennsylvania<\/a>, Newark,\u00a0New Jersey<\/a>, Batavia,\u00a0New York<\/a>,\u00a0Fishkill\/Napanoch, New York<\/a>, Hartford, Connecticut<\/a>, and Miami,\u00a0Florida<\/a>. Before these courts I have helped my clients win cases in\u00a0Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Adjustment of Status.<\/p>\n

In immigration related criminal matters, I have represented clients before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have also successfully prosecuted appeals before the Board\u00a0of Immigration Appeals<\/a>, which is the appellate body for the Immigration\u00a0Courts.<\/p>\n

I am conversant in Spanish, and I do not need a translator in preparing\u00a0cases for Spanish speaking clients. While many of my clients have been\u00a0from Latin America, I have also represented clients from the former Soviet\u00a0Bloc, West Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n

As an undergraduate, I concentrated my work on political philosophy and\u00a0intellectual history. I have closely followed international news and history\u00a0for all of my adult life, and this background helps me in understanding\u00a0and advocating for my clients.<\/p>\n

My grandparents came to the United States as immigrants, and I believe\u00a0that it is our nation’s mission to provide refuge for the persecuted and\u00a0to be a land of opportunity for those who play by the rules and seek a\u00a0better life for themselves and their children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
